California Waterfowl presents - College Camp 12 Years & Growing

California Waterfowl in conjunction with UC Davis and Paul Bonderson of Birdhaven Ranch have come together for the 12th annual College Camp. Future wildlife and biology based career focused students get to walk a mile in the waders of a hunter. This camp takes these dedicated and educated students through the A to Z of hunter safety, handling firearms, and going out on the actual hunt. These college students have never been on a hunt and have very little exposure to a hunter's world, until now!

Mallard Egg Salvage

Farmers who enroll in the program allow us to sweep their fields for nests before harvest, or provide us with cartons to collect eggs as they harvest. We then take the eggs to permitted hatcheries.

Now that Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program is funded through the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Waterfowl will be assisting the Department with implementation of the program.

Calling all kids! We have kicked off our Kids Coloring Contest! Bring your creativity and dive into our contest where we are honoring our 1 millionth wood duck hatching this year. Sherrie Russell Meline is the artist behind the coloring picture and it has been used as our recent magazine cover!

We are delighted to announce the well-deserved promotion of Jeff Smith to the position of Director of Hunting and Education Programs at California Waterfowl.

2024-25 Waterfowl Seasons and Bag Limits Finalized

The California Fish and Game Commission voted today to approve the seasons and bag limits for the 2024-25 waterfowl season. California Waterfowl provided testimony at the hearing in San Jose.
